Registered teachers can also amend their details and pay their renewal fee by logging into MyGTCNI

Why Register

Teaching in Northern Ireland is a graduate profession. Only teachers who can demonstrate that they meet the criteria required for professional recognition will be admitted to the Register.

If you want to work as a teacher in a grant–aided school in Northern Ireland you must be registered with GTCNI in accordance with Article 35(3) of the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998. Employing authorities are required to ensure that they only employ teachers that are registered with the GTCNI.
