23 Sept 2019  – Ballot papers distributed
11 Oct 2019  – Ballot papers returned
12 Oct 2019  – Election count
14 Oct 2019  – Election results

How to get involved

Fourteen teachers are to be elected to the Council in the following categories:

Election Category Number to be Elected
Teacher (whether or not a principal) in a nursery school 1
Teacher (whether or not a principal) in a special school 1
Teachers in primary education who are not principals 5
Teachers in post-primary education who are not principals 5
Principal in primary education 1
Principal in post-primary education 1







For the purpose of the election, the Council will compile an electoral roll with a qualifying date of 25 April 2019 comprising the names, addresses and proposed electoral constituencies of all teachers for whom it has a record (other than teachers disqualified from voting under Regulation 4(2) of the Constitution Regulations).

The Independent Scrutineer is responsible for the printing and distribution of the Notice of Election and Ballot material and for the counting of the ballot papers in accordance with the Scheme of Election. 

The Returning Officer, appointed to be responsible for the conduct of the election in accordance with the Council’s Scheme and Constitution Regulations, is:
