The nomination process for teacher representatives to the new Council closed on 15 January. The Returning Officer, Electoral Reform Services, appointed in accordance with the Council’s Scheme and Constitution Regulations has determined the valid candidates within each electoral constituency, as set out below.

Ballot papers, in electoral constituencies where an election will take place, will be distributed on 25 February and MUST be returned by 16 March. Please see the voting instructions enclosed with the Ballot papers for further details and information on electronic voting.

Ballot papers WILL NOT be distributed in electoral constituencies where an election contest is not required.

Dates for any by-election, as required, will be announced in due course following the publication of the election results on 23 March 2016

Fourteen teachers are to be elected to the Council in the following categories:

For the purpose of the election, the Council will compile an electoral roll with a qualifying date of 18 December 2015 comprising the names, addresses and proposed electoral constituencies of all teachers for whom it has a record (other than teachers disqualified from voting under Regulation 4(2) of the Constitution Regulations).

The Independent Scrutineer is responsible for the printing and distribution of the Notice of Election and Ballot material and for the counting of the ballot papers in accordance with the Scheme of Election.
