Spotlight for Teachers at the Lyric

Master class for teachers of English and Drama, 22 May 2014 • 9:30 am – 4.00pm @ Lyric Theatre Belfast • An opportunity not to be missed.
The Lyric Theatre in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company is proud to host Rachel Gartside, leading Practitioner with RSC Education, to deliver a FREE workshop for teachers of Shakespeare.
This workshop is focussing on Henry IV Part 1 and provides an inspiring professional development opportunity aimed at teachers of KS2, 3 & 4.  There will be a ‘live’ streamed performance direct from Stratford-Upon-Avon on 6 June to schools who wish to participate.

Workshop themes:
• Improve student analytical written work
• Inspire students to perform Shakespeare effectively
• Transferrable approaches to any Shakespeare play 

Workshop activities will include: 
• ‘Family tree’ to unravel complex Shakespeare plays 
• A storytelling activity suitable for sharing any narrative
• Transferrable exercises for tackling any long speech 
• Transferrable exercises for tackling any scene.

 

Places are limited to 12 and it will be on a first come first served basis.
