Innovative Schools Programme Launch

Join us for the launch of Microsoft’s

Innovative Schools Programme

The NI Innovative Schools Programme is part of the Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Schools Programme (ISP).

The Innovative Schools Programme is a core pillar in Microsoft’s Partners in Leaning. Partners in Learning is a global initiative designed to help increase technology access for schools, foster innovative approaches to pedagogy and teacher professional development, and provide education leaders with the tools to envision, implement, and manage change.

We will be formally launching the NI programme on April 20th, 2010 in the new Centre for Excellence in Leadership, Innovation and Learning (CELIL) on the campus of Stranmillis University College (Map-Click on aerial-Bird’s Eye). All schools who are interested in what the programme is and what is has to offer are encouraged to join us from 9:30- 12:00.

The keynote speech will be given by Dr. Tom Hesketh, Director RTU. Tom will discuss why he feels this programme is important for every school leader and teacher. Seamus Ryan, Chief ICT Officer for Co. Meath VEC, will talk about his experience in being a Mentor School and one of the first Microsoft Global Schools of the Future. A summary of what the programme offers will be delivered by Tom Jackson, Microsoft Education Programme Manager for NI.

If you would like to see some of the available documentation, you need to join the NI Innovative Teachers Network and then join the NI Innovative Schools Programme Community. You will need a Live ID (Hotmail,, etc.) If you don’t already have one, you can sign up HERE and get all of the free online services that come with it.
