Nipsa classroom assistants are to suspend their long-running strike action tomorrow.
However, there will be more picketing today and a protest meeting at Stormont involving some of the public service union`s 3,000 members.
The decisions were taken after union leaders consulted their members over the weekend.
A total of three other unions affected have agreed to accept a pay deal offered last September in compensation for changes to conditions.
A Nipsa spokesman said: "Nipsa has also confirmed that further planned strike action up to Christmas in the long-running dispute is to be suspended with all classroom assistants returning to schools on Tuesday, December 4, 2007."
