The General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland is the statutory, independent body for the teaching profession and is dedicated to enhancing the status of teaching and promoting the highest standards of professional conduct and practice.
The Queen's University of Belfast student teacher award ceremony took place on 22nd September in the Great Hall.
The Head of School, Prof John Gardner was speaking at the event and the GTCNI Registrar presented the 'GTCNI Student Teacher Award' jointly to:
Paul Oliver (Mathematics) for the top performing student and to Claire Kirk (Biology with Science) for Education Studies.
The Registrar commented "the two students being presented with the 'GTCNI Student Teacher Award' demonstrate the calibre of teachers entering the teaching profession and in achieving the award they have proven a commitment to excellence which willl serve them well throughout their career".
